The first New Orleans Bike Week was a big hit, and the 2nd one was supposed to be even bigger.

Seems like the forum on the Bike Week website has disappeared, so leave your comments & see what others have to say...
Now in its' second year, Bike Week New Orleans is a festival for anyone who loves motorcycles, in the heart of a city that parties like no other.
New Orleans is the ideal location - a city that possesses diversity, southern hospitality, a wealth of activities, cuisine, scenery and pleasures -- all in a day's ride.
They had two locations - the main event venue in the Hilton Riverwalk Whale lot, right on the banks of the Mississippi.
3-acres of live music, motorcycle entertainment, local and industry vendors, New Orleans cuisine, and of course Broken Spoke bars everywhere you look!
The second location is at the House of Blues the French Quarter where you'll enjoy a New Orleans party with more live music, the finest bartenders and a Midnight Madness celebration - just for Bike Week ticket holders!

Chrome Kitchen - What happens when you bring the top chef's in New Orleans and match them up with Motorcycle celebrities? A whole lot of fun! Watch out you may find new ways to use your pots and pans.

Bilk Week New Orleans
Several on-line bike forums advertised that this event was sponsored by EasyRiders and that the V-Twin Expo would be there.
Very disappointing effort. I wish they could bring back Steel Pony and the their promoters and event planners, because they did it right.
The poor girls at the Spoke tried to keep it professional and interesting but at times there were more bartenders than customers for long periods of time.
Bike Week
I sent an email to the Bike Week people informing them that though they took down the forum, there were comments being left all over the internet. I also gave them the link to BayouBikers.com to see for themselves how the local bikers felt.
If I hadn't gotten in for free I would have been pissed at getting ripped off because the festival was not worth the price of admission. If there is to be a 3rd annual BWNO then they'd better move the venue to someplace other than a parking lot and they'd better make it free or less than $15. If the city can fence off part of City Park for Voodoo Fest every year, why can't they do it for Bike Week?
New Orleans Bike Week
I think the cost was too high to enter for those who wanted to shop at the vendors and maybe the band lineup was good, but it wasn't good enough to draw a large crowd. Most people attending were from out of town and out of state.
Maybe next year they will lower the entrance fee, if it happens again.
2nd New Orleans Bike Week
If this year's event is a foreshadowing of next year then it's safe to say I'll find something else to spend my money and time on. I didn't pay to get in this year and would not have attended if I had to. In a word? LAME!
Bike Week Blues
The photos (as usual) are amazing. They capture the essence that should have been there.. I didn't like being caged in and at a hefty price just to go in and have to keep on spending money.. Thanks to Progressive for the free corn. I hope Lakeside mall doesn't start charging to go in and shop. The people were nice, the bartenders were hot, the beer was cold, but for a price.
Opinions?
